My husband and I participated in the 3 coolest neighborhoods in Saigon walking tour and decided to join this food tour for two reasons: first, we want to try some different, uncommon Vietnamese dishes as we’re pretty familiar with popular VNese dishes (well, plenty of good Vietnamese restaurants in Texas); second, the morning walking tour showed that these guys are serious about their tours, and they didn’t disappoint us. Their food list is quite unique; I’ve never tried these dishes before or even heard about them and am just so stoked to talk to my friends about this experience when we return home. The waterfall fried chicken is so cool, the chicken is crispy outside but tender, and moist inside; never seen anything more bizarre than that machinery. The fish stuffed bitter melon is interesting; we never tried the bitter melon but found out that’s not as bad as the name suggested. The guides we had, Danny and Thưong (excuse us if we don’t get the name right), were terrific; they were attentive, and we felt safe the whole way driving in the traffic. We couldn’t ask for a better way to spend a night in Vietnam with these two young energetic Vietnamese guys and learn how diversified Vietnamese cuisine could be. The price of the tour is in the higher range of many tours that we’ve searched but given the quality of the guide and the food, it is worth it.
