This was such an informative, interactive, and engaging tour that we took just as we arrived in Hoi An. It helped us get our bearings and understand some of the history of the town, which helped it really come alive for us. We had done a small amount of walking on our own, but it’s not nearly the same as having a knowledgeable guide like Nguyen pointing out and describing things we definitely missed on our own.
In addition to exploring the history, architecture, and important landmarks, we were so grateful to be able to meet locals behind two of the most noteworthy dishes—Banh Mi and black sesame pudding. We loved hearing the story of the vegan food cart owner and her banh mi was one of the best we have ever tasted! We probably wouldn’t have tried black sesame pudding on our own, but then we would have missed hearing the stories and seeing the tools involved in how its made, as well as learning about the founder of the best tasting version in Hoi An.
Hoi An will come alive for you in a way you cannot achieve on your own. Nguyen is a great guide and his passion and knowledge are some of the best we’ve encountered anywhere in the world. We highly recommend this tour!
