We took this tour at the end of nearly three weeks in Saigon. We HIGHLY recommend this tour as soon as you arrive. It will enrich your time in Saigon. There was so much we missed on our own, but this tour gave us a greater appreciation of the food, the people, the various districts of this major city. You’ll get food recommendations, have the opportunity to meet some local people, taste some amazing coffee and foods and drinks from the local markets on top of gaining a deeper understanding of the various parts of Saigon. We never would have tried some of the foods we got to taste, so we appreciated how multi-dimensional this tour is. It includes transportation by car in some places, which means that your feet do get a break, but honestly, the walk was great and we loved every minute of it.

We loved the mix of experiences we had and we wished we could have stayed longer after this tour so that we could have utilized more of the knowledge that we gained. We would have loved to explore more on our own after being introduced to the various districts we didn’t explore on our own.

This is an excellent way to spend your time and you absolutely will not regret the time or costs. TREMENDOUS VALUE!

I generally avoid tours in favour of doing my own thing, but this one piqued my interest as it was in districts I knew I probably wouldn’t get to during my short stay in Ho Chi Minh City.

But I had an absolute blast with guide Hoang on this tour, learnt so much about the different districts, culture and history, definitely went to places I would never have known about, tried durian for the first time and had loads of laughs with guide Hoang.

Zero regrets booking this tour, would absolutely recommend this to anyone but especially those only in Ho Chi Minh for a short stay and really want to dive in and explore outside of District one.

Thanks so much to Hoang and the team for setting this up and for an unforgettable experience.

Tbh, we were only looking for other things to do in HCM and thought that the walking tour around lesser known neighborhoods sounded fun. It was definitely more than we expected. We got better appreciation of smaller more hidden neighborhoods and how the small stories can still impact a country’s culture. The guide is a great storyteller! He’s very engaging and knowledgeable even when it came to our small questions. We got to taste herbal tea, traditional alcohol with ginseng, fresh fruits! I’d say this was one of the best experiences we had in HCM.

My husband and I took the 3 Cool Neighborhoods tour today. Our guide, Kyle, was very smart and personable. The four hours we spent with him were like a fascinating mini-course in Vietnamese history. He answered all our questions thoughtfully and with interesting insight. We really enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend this one for an unusual insiders view os Saigon

My husband and I did this tour with Kyle, he was pleasant, engaging and knowledgeable, who guiding us without being hurried. Kyle explained the past and present of each district we visited, winding us through alleyways and markets which was so interesting and fun. We stopped regularly for drinks and snacks that I wouldn’t have tried otherwise. Kyle was gr8 at taking photos along the way, which he shared with us, I feel we walked away knowing a little more about this amazing country. Thanks Kyle for a great day.

Kyle showed us around and we received great insights into Saigon and Vietnamese living, history and eating. I personally enjoyed the drive through market the most, that was really intense. But also walking through the food market, specialized streets like the aquarium street or the herbal street was quite a sight. Also experiencing the alley life and even enjoying some Vietnamese street coffee and later some herbal teas were highlights.
Kyle is a very pleasant and easy to go along with tour guide and was always helping us to learn. Also his music taste is second to none 😅

Highly recommend this tour. Our guide Hoang was very friendly and informative throughout the entire tour. Really enjoyed all of the off the beaten path alleys and markets in District 4. Great to see the real life in Saigon and not the tourist traps. The history and insight to Chinese immigrants in District 5 was very interesting. Finally District 3 and a bit of Vietnam war history finishing at the only remaining resistance fighters bunker in Saigon. A great guide, great sights, sounds and smells plus a good bit of exercise. Very glad I found this tour online.

We had the absolute pleasure of joining the 3 Coolest Neighbourhoods in Saigon walking tour—it was truly one of the highlights of our trip! We were incredibly lucky to have the tour all to ourselves (a perk of traveling in the low season—not a reflection of the tour quality).

What made the experience even more special was our amazing guide, Hoang. From the moment we met him, Hoang’s warmth, knowledge & passion for his city were immediately clear. He didn’t just guide us through the neighborhoods—he invited us into the soul of Saigon 🪷

Hoang effortlessly balanced historical insights, fun facts & stories, painting a rich picture of the city that you could never get from a guidebook. He took us through tucked-away alleyways, local markets & hidden cafes. Each stop felt intentional & intimate, like discovering a well-kept secret.

What truly stood out was Hoang’s kindness & sincerity. He was attentive, thoughtful & genuinely interested in connecting with us—not just as tourists, but as people. He made us feel like old friends sharing an afternoon stroll, rather than guests on a tour.

By the end of the walk, we weren’t just full of stories & memories—we felt more connected to the spirit of Saigon, all thanks to Hoang. If you’re considering this tour: don’t hesitate. & if you’re lucky enough to have Hoang as your guide, you’re in for something really special ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

P.S. We found some super fresh durian on our adventures—such a treat to share & enjoy it with a fellow durian lover. Thanks, Hoang! 🥰

Five stars!! This tour is a wonderful introduction to Ho Chi Min City. Ky generously shares his knowledge of the people, places, history and culture – and snacks – in places you would never find. A quiet coffee in a shady garden gives a sense of the local community. So glad we did this on our first day!

My trip started on such a wonderful, positive note because of this tour. From the very beginning, it felt less like a guided experience and more like being shown around by a local friend.

We explored districts I never would have known about or found on my own, which made the experience feel truly special and authentic. Kyle went above and beyond at every step — even taking the time to talk with vendors and helping me score a perfectly ripe mango that was ready to eat.

He is incredibly professional, deeply knowledgeable, and clearly very talented at what he does. I’m genuinely grateful for the experience and couldn’t have asked for a better way to begin my trip.

I totally enjoyed the 3 neighborhoods tour with Ky. He is super knowledgeable about his city and he is easy to communicate with. I could also see that he is well respected by the local merchants and neighborhood residents we interacted with along the tour.
